NMNEC HESI A2 Initial

The NMNEC HESI A2 is an entry level exam required to pursue admission into the CNM Nursing Program and the UNM College of Nursing. The NMNEC HESI A2 is a computerized exam consisting of six (6) sections: Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and General Knowledge, Biology, Chemistry, and Math. Both the CNM Nursing Program and the UNM College of Nursing require a minimum score of 75% on all six sections and a 75% composite score.

If you require Special Accommodations for the NMNEC HESI A2 exam, please contact the CNM Workforce Training prior to registering. You must have valid documentation from the Disability Resource Center.

NMNEC HESI A2 Exam results that do not meet the requirement stated below will be invalid.
Results of the NMNEC HESI A2 Exam are good for one (1) year. Students are only allowed to take the exam twice in any twelve-month period. The twelve-month period begins when you take your initial exam. If a retest is needed to obtain the required score, students must wait a minimum 45 days (or longer) after the first attempt. The retest marks the end of the twelve-month period. A new twelve-month period will begin one year after the retest. The third attempt may be scheduled one year after the second attempt. For the third attempt you must register for a NMNEC HESI A2 Initial Exam.

Day of Exam Schedule
8:45 – Check-in
9:00 – Doors close. No late admissions will be allowed
9:00 – 9:30 – Proctor will read exam instructions and answer any questions from students
9:30 - 2:00 – Exam begins. You have 4.5 hours to complete the exam

*All times are subject to change. Students will always receive the full 4.5 hours to complete the exam even if there is a delay in the schedule. 

Additional Information
• A photo ID is required for check-in.
• No outside materials or resources are allowed. Including (but not limited to) cell phones, books, notebooks, calculators, electronic devices, conversion tables, or periodic table etc. 
• You will be provided a calculator, pencils, and paper.

Once you have registered and paid for your exam you will need to go to evolve.elsevier.com/exam to create your Evolve username and password. You must bring this username and password to the exam and any retests.
 
Cancellation and Reschedule Policy 
The HESI A2 Exam will be non-refundable. You will not be allowed to cancel or reschedule your HESI A2 Exam once you register for it.  If you are a NO SHOW for the exam it will not count as an attempt but you will not receive a refund for the exam.

Cancellations or reschedules will only be accepted in the event of a family emergency, illness, or other documentable incident. Written documentation will be required and approval will be at the discretion of CNM Ingenuity leadership.

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD. The CNM Workforce Training Center will always offer at least two exams per month. New dates will be posted as the current dates close or run.
