The Cisco Networking Academy helps individuals prepare for industry-recognized certifications and entry-level information technology (IT) careers in virtually every type of industry. Students develop foundational skills in IT while acquiring career skills in problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. This is a blended learning class (classroom and online).
In the Routing & Switching Essentials course, participants will learn how to:
- Describe the purpose, nature, and operations of a router, routing tables, and the route lookup process;
- Describe how VLANs create logically separate networks and how routing occurs between them;
- Describe dynamic routing protocols, distance vector routing protocols, and link-state routing protocols;
- Configure and troubleshoot static routing and default routing (RIP and RIPng), an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) network, access control lists (ACLs) for IPv4 and IPv6 networks, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) for IPv4 and IPv6 networks, and Network Address Translation (NAT) operations.
