This course will prepare personnel working in sterile processing to clean and sterilize flexible endoscopes according to best practices and clinical guidelines. The course has a self-paced, 8 hour online module available 24/7 (textbook required) that participants will review independently between May 7-11. Participants will also attend an eight hour face-to-face workshop in the surgical tech lab on CNM's main campus, JS Building, Room 102B on May 12.
A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants who complete the online portion with a grade of 70% or higher, and competency evalutation in the lab with 70% or higher grade.
Prerequisites: Formal sterile processing course completion at CNM or another accredited institution; or one year hospital experience in peri-operative sterile processing; or certification by IHCSSM or CBSPD. Documentation required by instructor on day of face-to-face lab.
