ICE Exam- Residential

There are three different ICE (Industry Competency Examination) examinations: Light Commercial Examination (2 hours),  Commercial Refrigeration (2 hours), and Residential Air Conditioning and Heating Examination (3.5 hours=35 minutes per section).  
 
Residential Air Conditioning and Heating (equipment 5 tons or smaller). The Residential Air Conditioning and Heating exam consists of six sections:
    1. Core
    2. Air Distribution
    3. Air Conditioning
    4. Heat Pumps
    5. Gas Heating
    6. Oil Heating
NOTE: Passing of the Core section is required for competency in any of the other five sections. (3.5 hours)
 
You must enroll separately for each of the three ICE examinations you want to take. 
 
Additional Information (please carefully review!)
  • A photo ID is required for check-in.
  • No outside materials are allowed (i.e. cell phones, books, notebooks, electronic devices, etc.).
  • You must register online, and pay either online or you may pay by check at the WTC for this examination.
  • Test is administer ONCE per semester.  If you miss the test or do not score where you need to be, you will have to wait for the next semester to retake the examination.
  • Candidates may use a silent, non-printing, non-programmable, hand-held calculator.
  • There is no talking allowed during the test.  Speaking with other candidates could result in the invalidation of test scores.
  • No outside materials are allowed (i.e. cell phones, books, notebooks, electronic devices, etc.).
