Conservatorship, Cultural Diversity and Professional Skills

In this session, we will continue to cover legal basics, with emphasis on what is required of the ethical and competent conservator regarding asset and property management.

In cultural diversity, we will explore racial and demographic groups, sexual orientations and personal characteristics; how cultural factors impact your client interactions; and your own assumptions and implicit biases that may affect your client-centered practice and interdisciplinary problem solving.

Professional skills for competent ethical practice will cover healthy professional boundaries, effective advocacy, compassion, confidentiality, and documentation in case notes, billing and time sheets.
