As our aging population grows, so too will the need for Guardianship and Conservatorship of more adults.

An important part of this process is the role of the Court Visitor, appointed by the judge to review and write a report of the needs, abilities and disabilities of the alleged incapacitated person, their living situation, and the appropriateness of the proposed guardian and conservator.

The Court Visitor must have no personal interest in the proceeding and be trained or have appropriate expertise as a professional, as defined by New Mexico law.

This course will review the duties and ethical responsibilities expected of the Court Visitor.
